What about the small canon of (at least) arguably Christian arthouse cinema, such as the films of Andrei Tarkovsky or Terence Malick?

Or, to use a somewhat more mainstream example, the films of former seminary student Martin Scorsese, some of which (especially Silence and The Last Temptation of Christ) have fairly explicit Christian themes?

Would one call these Christian films? Silence literally premiered at the Vatican.
